Reflection

I agree with almost all of the analysis provided by the Keirsey intelligence test. In fact, I was actually very surprised to find that the information provided matched my actual personality that I think I have and others say I have in various aspects. For instance, when I am working on something, I tend to overdo it because I am more satisfied when I realize that I did something with the maximum efforts. A more specific example would be me writing a 10-page essay when the required amount is only 6 pages. I almost always have something that I want to and need to do and thus, I do not think that I could ever live lazily. More than often, I find myself overloaded with work because I want to have everything done in a meticulous manner. Although I want to be recognized and appreciated for my efforts, I do not usually advertise the fruits of my hard work because I feel like instead of attempting to be praised for one success, I should become a person who is able to handle a cycle of successful outcomes. Moreover, I have been brought up in an environment in which my mother always told me to be modest and humble and thus, I am not prone to showing off my achievements to people. I think I am indeed very sensitive to changes because I detect the transformations very easily due to relatively good memory. I am not a huge fan of trying new, radical ideas. I tend to be more inclined towards the sense of stability of traditional notions and formats than the precarious, risky venture of trying something completely new. On the other hand, being sensitive to changes is often good and useful because I can easily detect how people and situations changed and act accordingly to the changes. I am often very sentimental because I am a "feeling" type (ISFJ) but I do not express my feelings openly because I tend to be shy (especially toward people who I am not fully familiar with) and introverted (ISFJ).
Even though I found most of the information in the analysis to be germane and relevant, I have two main areas that I disagree with. First, there was a part in which the test mentioned how patient I was. Although I am patient to a certain extent, I have the tendency to become impatient in some situations because I want to get ahead quickly without having to stay behind. This seems to be the result of my desire to overachieve and overdo assignments. In addition, the analysis provided by the website described me as a creative person. Since I was young, I never truly saw myself as a creative individual because whenever we had to come up with novel ideas (for projects or other activities), I would have a really difficult time coming up with something that was original. For instance, when I was in a sculpture class few years ago, I had to spend much more time than other people to come up with a creative subject.
I was actually very interested to find that the result of this test (ISFJ) was identical to the result of the test that I took a few years ago on Family Connection for my future resume. I was surprised because I found a large portion of the analysis relevant to myself.
In addition, I do not think that this test tells everything about my personality although it is accurate in many aspects. There seem to be many more sides to my personality that the ones that were mentioned in the outcome of this test; for example, I am independent, passionate, and stubborn. I realized how it seems difficult and even close to impossible for a personality test to cover all parts of one's personality. Still, compared to the other personality tests, I found the Keirsey personality test to be the most descriptive, valid, reliable, and accurate.
